Increase efficiency

Condensing exhaust gas heat exchanger for CHP units

Use your energy more efficiently

Many conventional CHP units have a thermal efficiency of approx. 50%. The condensing exhaust gas heat exchanger utilises the condensation heat in the exhaust gas as an additional heat gain. The thermal efficiency can be increased by up to 10% thanks to the condensing technology used. This also protects the environment, as the chimney releases significantly fewer pollutants into the air.

Simply retrofit a condensing heat exchanger.

The ceramic heat exchanger is simply installed between the exhaust pipe of the CHP unit. The heat generated is fed into the existing heating system or used as process heat.

CHP heat exchanger: Ceramics last longer.

Conventional exhaust gas heat exchangers are generally operated above the condensation limit in CHP units. Nevertheless, condensation and thus corrosion can occur in the heat exchanger during start-up or at low cooling water temperatures. The condensing heat exchangers used are corrosion-resistant and are deliberately used for exhaust gas condensation. If fuels containing sulphur (oil, gas, biogas) are burnt, sulphurous acid is produced. Depending on the combustion temperature and the catalyser technology, nitric acid can be produced as a reaction with the condensate and NOx. Nitric acid and sulphurous acid are responsible for acid rain and also attack stainless steels. Condensate containing heavy metals can also be produced. Condensing boiler pioneer BOMAT is the only company to use patented ceramic heat exchangers that are 100% corrosion-proof. These ensure pollutant-free condensation and have an impressively long service life.
